Medford Village Gators Swim Team
My name is Andrew and I have been swimming at Medford Village for 2 years now, and started swimming 3 years ago. Watching my older brother Alex swim when I was in 8th grade and a freshman, I always thought it looked like a very fun and exciting sport and something that I would someday like to be a part of. So I joined the Shawnee Swim team my sophomore year and that is where my career started. That is also where I attended high school the past 4 years. Last year was probably my best year of swim from dropping times, to being put in the big events. That was the big reason that I wanted to continue swimming in the summer and chose Medford Village. I was very grateful to be welcomed in quickly by everyone and I could really tell how great of a community it was. Although my first year at Medford Village wasn’t as ideal as usual because of the virus, I still got to see how they do things at Medford Village and how close everyone is. This upcoming year I will be going to Kutztown University and studying sports management. My best memory from swimming would either be dropping to a 23.6 in my 50 free or beating Cherokee this year. I want to thank coach O’Neil because I would not have been able to be the swimmer I am today without his help. I would also like to thank my parents for supporting me through my entire swim career whether that was school or summer. Thank you to all my teammates for a great last 2 years and I can’t wait to see them all do great things in the future.
