Jill Anderson
Medford Village Gators Swim Team
Jill has been a member of the Medford Village Gators for the past 10 years. She has also participated in club swimming, most recently ECCC, as well as varsity swimming, cross country, and track and field over her 4 years at Shawnee High School. Jill is grateful to Coach Jeff, who coached her for 8 years at the gators, and who never gave up on her, even when she was ready to quit after swallowing too much water during her first race and letting her re-swim the event. Jill is also thankful to Coach O’Neill, who is always pushing her to try her best and being such a supportive coach over the last couple of years. Most importantly, Jill could not have done it all without her parents who have been there with her every step of the way, whether it was swimming, school or just life related. She is so thankful to have had such loving and supporting people to guide her through her life, and she could not think of any other people to be her greatest role models. Some of the things Jill will miss from gators are the volleyball games, fun-day Monday’s and cheers at the end of meet before the free-relays. One of the most important things that Jill loves about the gators is all of the life-long friendships she has made through the program over the years, and how it set her up on the path to swim throughout the years which impacted her life in the best way. Next year, Jill will be attending North Carolina State University to study Biochemistry on a pre-medical track, as well as continuing her swimming career on the NC State club swim team. Jill is so happy to have been on the Gators for all these years, and is thankful to all of her coaches and teammates who made it such a fun and memorable experience for her.
